Turtle Lake in Itasca County MN is over 2100 acres and has a maximum depth of 137 feet. Turtle Lake has an astonishing 15.5 feet of water clarity, making it one of the clearest lakes in Minnesota. Turtle Lake is located about 35 miles north of Grand Rapids MN in the Chippewa National Forest. The nearest towns to the lake are Marcell MN and Big Fork MN. There is one public access on the lake. The lake is known for small mouth bass fishing and a diverse fish population.
