Family Fun at the Eastman Nature Center Deer Watch
On Saturdays in January and February the Eastman Nature Center in the Elm Creek Park Reserve has a Deer Watch, a fantastic opportunity to see wild deer up close and personal! The deer are just getting used to the new facility, so it is not guaranteed that they will appear, but the night our family was there we saw at least 5 deer.
The new 13,000 square foot Eastman Nature Center has walls of windows to allow perfect and up close viewing of the deer. Volunteers at the Nature Center give a short power point presentation with great information about deer and their habits.
The Deer Watch is held between 4:00pm – 5:30 pm. This is a wonderful time to get out of the house in the winter and a fun learning opportunity for the kids.
